What is a class?
A class is a personal, customized event that you attend where you have a selection of jewelry projects you may choose to design. You receive all project materials along with design suggestions and additional design options. You are provided with all tools needed, one-on-one instrucion, a comfortable work area, and a time and place to relax, learn and create! Music, munchies and beverages too!
Seating is limited for these events to enable me to give you personal assistance with design ideas and instruction on the use of tools and fabrication techniques.
Reservations are accepted on a first-pay, first-in basis, so don't hesitate! Unless otherwise specified, events are held at my S.W. Portland home.
I want to HOST a class!
Great! I'd love to come to your special event and put something special together just for you! This is a great idea for birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers - or just want to get together and create events! Please contact me to reserve the date - once the deposit is paid for at least six participants, I will confirm, hold the date and start working with you on what projects you'd like to try!
What does it cost?
For most events, unless otherwise specified, there is a $20 non-refundable class fee which is required to hold your reservation - $10 of the fee will be credited toward your completed projects. In addition to this fee, each project will have a cost associated with it, along with "upgrade" costs if applicable. Project "kits" run from $10 to $100, depending upon the specific project and what types of materials you wish to incorporate into your unique design. When you think of what you might plunk down at Nordstrom, this is a bargain!
What are "upgrades"?
Most projects are set up to be completed at an economical price for most attendees - this means that some components may be composed of base metals (plated silver vs. sterling silver or brass vs. gold-filled), and design elements may be economical in nature. Upgrades are options that you can select to add more value, more "bling" to your design. This might include genuine Swarovski crystal beads, freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones, sterling or gold filled components, and my own handcrafted glass beads (of course!).
What is a "kit"?
Kits will be made available for a limited time, on a limited number basis, for projects featured in the event. So if you loved making those earrings for Aunt Sally's birthday, but really wanted some for yourself and ran out of time, then the kit is your answer. I'll include all the supplies and instructions that you will need to complete the project - you provide the basic tools - and VIOLA! Kits will be subject to availability and may not contain all identical components to the event kits.
