The Artist's Journal
12/6/07 Happy 7th day of Christmas!  I've been working hard at posting items for sale here and on two other online storefronts - Etsy and UShops.  Both were created for artisans to sell their work in a more personal environment than the big ole EBay.  Please check the links on my home page and see what I've been up to.  Last month was the Portland Bead Society Bead Bazaar in Portland.  I participated in the co-op table again this year - where you work shifts and get to know other co-op artists.  It was a fun show and I had decent sales :)   Looking forward to next Friday - my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Christmas Bazaar - hope I sell a bunch!   I've been making the Swarovski crystal holiday tree earrings and hope to sell a bunch.  Will get them posted here and to my shops VERY SOON!  If you need a special piece, please contact me!  I'll get it out to you PRONTO!   Take care and have a fabulous holiday season!  God Bless! Thanks again for your continued support of my work!

8/15/07 - hello!  Yes, I HAVE been making beads, and even a few great jewelry pieces while on vacation at the lake, but where are they??  Pics are coming soon, and a whole-site cleanup too.  Thanks for your support and patience!

6/13/07 - It's been awhile, but I'm FINALLY updating the website with all my new beads and jewelry for sale.  Please be patient with me!  I've got so much going on lately with the kids finishing up their academic school year, Adam travelling for work, Mom travelling for pleasure, and vacation coming up soon.  We'll head to Montana for two weeks so I'll be missin' my torch but will be busy making jewelry while relaxing at the lake.   I completed my first "official" trade show last month - the Portland Bead Society's show, Art & Elegance in Beads and was pleasantly surprised at my success.  I learned a lot and got to spend time with my good friend and booth mate, Kathy Lowe.  I also really enjoyed getting to know some other fellow lampwork artists better - Kathy Perras, Robin Poff and Jenny Newtson, to name a few!

2/2/07 - Finally!  New items up for sale on the site!  Getting ready for Valentine's Day?  Check out the new heart pendants and lovely new earrings for a perfect gift for your sweetheart!

12/27/06: We had a great Christmas - the kids are at such great ages for holiday fun! I'm also pleased that I had great sales on my jewelry in December! AND, I've been working like mad on the website and it is now customer-sales ready!! I'm hoping to keep adding more every two weeks and keep making improvements as I go along. So tell your neighbor and your hairdresser and your manicurist and your family about me so I get some traffic wheeling through here! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
11/14/06: Thanks for checking in! I've updated and added some areas to the site. I've been making a lot of beads and will try to get pics posted by next week. I had a great time at the Portland Bead Society sale on the 4th and 5th - I met so many great artists and learned so much about lampworking and the business of selling beads and jewelry. Also celebrated my birthday last week - a fabulous day from start to finish - the finish being the Portland Dixie Chicks concert. Holiday are coming and I'm getting some jewelry sets ready on special order. Got some cute peruvian holiday beads that I am setting on simple kidney wires. Please check back soon!!
9/27/06: Hello and thanks for checking in. This will be my first post to the journal of my site. I'm really enjoying making beads - especially after the Organic Beads class I took from Kimberly Affleck last month. It gave me a whole new style to win over and incorporate into my own designs. (see my "Organic Beads")What I've not been enjoying is trying to get this website up and running and looking the way I like it (perfectionist? Me? NAAAH!). The fact that i'm writing here is a good sign. I hope to have sales capability up VERY soon. Ideas, suggestions are welcomed! Getting over a nasty virus/cold so i've been having an out-of-studio experience this week. Maybe tomorrow. Hubby is getting ready for his "compadres weekend" - a weekend of gourmet cooking, cigars, beer & whiskey, and who know what else. (More about this at www.hueymungus.com) So i'll be on my own with the kiddos this weekend.
